Safe and Strong
Childİ Program
PAVSA has been providing personal
body safety education in elementary schools since 1981. The purpose of
the Safe and Strong Childİ Program is to decrease the vulnerability of
children to sexual abuse.
- Safe and Strong Childİ Personal Safety Program
for elementary schools presents prevention education for grades K through
6th grade.
- Safe and Strong ChildİPersonal Body Safety Program
for pre-schools presents body safety education for children ages 3-5
and their parents.
It is important that sexual
abuse prevention information be received by not only children, but the
adults in their lives as well. The Safe and Strong Childİ Personal Body
Safety Program has three parts.
- Parent Meeting: Familiarizes
parents with concepts pertaining to child sexual abuse, introduces the
Safe and Strong Childİ classroom curriculum, and discusses strategies
which parents can employ to help their children learn personal body
safety skills.
- Teachers/Support Staff Meeting: Provides
teachers and support staff with information on the concept of classroom
presentations and how personal body safety concepts can be reinforced
in the classroom. This presentation also provides information on mandatory
reporting laws, resources on child sexual abuse, and guidelines for
responding to a child who discloses possible abuse.
- Classroom Presentation: Developmentally
designed curriculum materials teach children about safe, confusing and
unsafe touch, prevention skills, and personal resources in a non threatening
and interactive environment.

Survivors
Journey Website --
This forum is for survivors and loved ones of abuse, be it from
childhoos or aulthood, together we will heal and be happy.
Often survivors are left feeling empty and alone. In order to truly
heal we must re-visit the memories of our abuse. Feel the emotions
and work through them. At Survivors Journey you will find a safe place
to do some of the work .
Here you will meet people that walk the same road as you, You will
be offered safe support as well as someone to understand what you
are going through. At times we must ask for what we need. And if needed
ask someone to carry the flashlight for you until you are able to
Dance in the sunshine of recovery.
