Back in 2011 when PAVSA faced major state funding cuts which would have impacted our support services, staff took matters in their own hands by developing the 856 Campaign. Named for the 856 survivors PAVSA served in 2010, donors were asked to contribute $20 for each person served that year in order to maintain the services that are so integral to PAVSA’s mission. Since 2011, 856 has become a campaign driven by our board members and staff, and is celebrated each July with our annual Cupcake Sale and BBQ on the plaza at the Building for Women. This fantastic event is enjoyable for all as it brings together community for classic summertime grilling, delicious baked treats, and a great cause.
